Vintage car For those of you in need of an adrenaline buzz, the annual “Cars on Kiawah ” event is a can’t miss car show in Charleston SC. If you yearn for the smell of oil and gasoline, the roar of high horse-powered beasts, the age of nostalgia and the joy of your youth with that girl “long remembered in the seat next to you, ” and the visage of years gone by, then there is no better local showcase than Cars on Kiawah.

Whether you have a Stingray in Summerville, a Mercer from Myrtle Beach, a Cobra in Columbia, an Austin in Aiken, or a Ford on Folly Beach, the Cars on Kiawah show is reachable, presentable, and very well-attended by friends and strangers alike. Be it veteran, vintage, antique, just a bit old, or brand new and shiny, that works too. Charleston is no stranger to vintage, antique, or just all around impressive cars. They fit in quite well with the historic backdrop of downtown Charleston. With our year-round beautiful weather, there’s virtually no bad days to have the top down and scoot around downtown to show off your engine.  From the British Car Club’s annual event to summertime cruise-ins at Bessingers BBQ on Hwy 17, the vintage car enthusiast can usually find a venue where other enthusiasts are gathered.

Anyway, enough of our ramblings, the pictures speak for themselves. We entered a vintage Bentley (the same one you can rent from Lowcountry Valet for your wedding or event) and our Alfa Romeo for the Cars on Kiawah friendly competition. See if you can find them among the very many entries that can be viewed HERE.  Suffice it to say this is a great weekend and a great family friendly event – it will come around next year with entries being accepted from the Fall.

NOTE: For those of you familiar with us, our passions and hobbies go beyond restoring historic homes. Our 1930’s Bentley has won awards at various events. And, if you find yourself in downtown Charleston SC, you might even find one of our classic chassis parked in front of our office at 95 Broad Street in downtown’s South of Broad neighborhood.

Not only is Kiawah Island SC host to “Cars on Kiawah, ” but this breathtaking barrier island offers up all different kinds of lifestyles. Whether you are a vintage car enthusiast or you love boating, golf, or tennis, there’s something for everyone on Kiawah.  Have a look at Kiawah Island real estate … and start dreaming today.
