Now that the New Year is behind us we’ve swept up the confetti and started to fill in the calendar with some of the best upcoming events in Charleston because starting in February the event season is in full swing in the Holy City!
Some of Charleston’s hottest “must see ” events occur annually in the spring and early summer and this is a festival season like NO others, from venues that include historic downtown Marion Square, the Family Circle Tennis Center Stadium Court on Daniel Island and the breathtaking Boone Hall Plantation.

Southeastern Wildlife Expo: February 14- 16, 2020; From wildlife artist exhibitions to duckdog competitions and chef demos this popular festival reflects Charleston’s love for the southern sporting lifestyle.
Charleston Wine + Food Festival: March 4-8, 2020; The annual BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival® is a celebration of Charleston’s culinary excellence and renowned culture. This is a must attend for the foodie crowd and showcases the explosive culinary scene in Charleston.
71st Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens; sponsored by the Historic Charleston Foundation; March 11 through April 18, 2020. Set amid the historic ambiance of the city’s Old & Historic District, this series of award-winning tours showcases Charleston’s distinctive architecture, history, gardens and culture. These tours provide a rare opportunity for guests to go inside the private houses and gardens of some of America’s most beautiful historic residences.
Volvo Car Open, April 4 – Apr 12 2020; The Volvo Car Open is the largest women’s only tennis tournament in the world, and this year is the inaugural event for Volvo to be the presenting sponsor. Every April, Charleston welcomes close to 100,000 spectators and more than 70 world-class, women athletes. The event not only offers world-class tennis, but also hosts a wide-variety of other activities throughout the week-long tournament.

41st Annual Cooper River Bridge Run, Saturday, April 4, 2020 The Cooper River Bridge Run provides a world-class 10-K foot race is considered among the best organized and the best conducted 10-K race in the world.
Spoleto Festival USA; May 22- June 7, 2020. Charleston’s premier arts event. What could be better than Charleston in the spring?
