With fall right around the corner Charleston offers up some great events to look forward to! And, just as Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of the summer season, Charleston ramps up for a fall filled with cooler temps and some beloved festivals. Only the “#1 City in the U.S.A “ can be constantly buzzing with things to do for just about everyone – the foodie, the art aficionado, or the “movers & shakers. ” Find something new to explore this fall, and get to know the Holy City on a whole new level.

As locals, we can appreciate the return of autumn to Charleston – we forget about the heat & humidity of the summer and remember that one of the BEST things about living in Charleston is just how walkable it is – and that a stroll downtown along the cobblestone streets is accompanied by a soft ocean breeze.  You just might remember all the reasons you fell in love with Charleston to begin with and, if you’re not sure what you should add to the calendar this fall, see if some of these events fit the bill …

FOR THE FOODIE

Charleston Restaurant Week (September 4-22, 2019)

If there’s only one thing Charleston does right, it’s food. Twice a year this culinary mecca turns into a foodie playground where top restaurants offer discounted and “pre-fixe ” menus for just about two weeks. Art Walk (October 4, 2019)

An ideal event for the art aficionado AND the casual sommelier, the Artwalk of Charleston’s Gallery Association provides you the opportunity to sip a glass of wine while you peruse more than 40 galleries. The walk takes you through Charleston’s historic district where you may have the opportunity to meet some of the local artists. You’ll have the opportunity to visit our beautiful building as we be hosting a select group of talented artists from Greenville, SC whose works will be displayed throughout. Learn more here.

Fall Tour of Homes (October 3 – November 2, 2019)

If you’ve ever dreamed of entering one of the exquisite historic homes in the downtown Charleston historic district, this is the event you MUST attend. Thanks to the Preservation Society of Charleston and their “Fall Tour of Homes, “ you can immerse yourself in the history and charm of some of America’s most distinguished homes and gardens – one spectacular interior at a time. You’ll even get another chance to peek behind the doors of our historic building, the Major Peter Bocquet House, as we are honored to be included in the tour every year. Buy tickets here.

Holiday Festival of Lights (November 15 – December 21, 2019)

One of the top holiday events to attend – ranked nationally and globally – takes place at James Island County Park. More than 750 spectacular light displays span 3-miles of the park and truly bring the holiday season to life. From s’mores stations, to train rides and walking trails, you can truly relish in the magic of the holiday season at this cherished annual Charleston tradition. Learn more here.
