As we say goodbye to 2015, it’s time to take a moment to reflect on the successes of Luxury Simplified over the past year and look forward to all that the future holds for 2016.
When we first opened our doors on 95 Broad Street in March of 2013, I don’t know that any of us quite understood just what we would look like nearly 3 years later. So many wonderful projects to be proud of, partnerships that have helped us grow and learn, and endless creativity from Realtors, Project Managers, Retreat Concierge, Interior Designers, Architects and Investors who have joined us in this grand adventure over the years.
Luxury Simplified Construction started off the year with the launch of the massive restoration of the Gadsden House — a stately Federal Style home that we envisioned (with a little love) would come to be a magnificent entertaining space and event venue. Circa 1800, this home was built by Christopher Gadsden as a wedding gift, so to now have it serve as one of Charleston’s newest wedding venues brings the distinction of that detail around full circle. Complete with intricately restored moldings & medallions, stunning chandeliers, wide piazzas and an outdoor garden, the project was completed in time to hold its first wedding on August 1st – Congrats to Kirsten & Hunter for a simply stunning event! We chronicled the journey of this restoration project in the film, “The Gadsden House Documentary – Reclaiming a Wedding Legacy. ” Have a look at the behind-the-scenes story of our transformation of this important federally listed, Grade 1 historic home. In March, Charleston Magazine named Luxury Simplified as one of the “40 Most Dynamic” companies in the area. The list of companies ranged in industry from technology to tourism and we were honored to be considered part of this innovative group. We hope to continue the trend of “shaking things up” in Charleston in 2016!
In May, Luxury Simplified Retreats, a boutique vacation rental and property management company, was launched. With luxury properties in our portfolio both downtown and on Folly Beach, you’ll now be able to find a vacation getaway that fits your lifestyle. From the “Taste of Charleston” gift box upon arrival down to the luxurious linens, we ensure that your stay in Charleston is a 5-star experience and that you’ll want to return again and again.
By September, Luxury Simplified Real Estate and Sea Islands Real Estate had merged to form a brokerage specializing in buying and selling luxury homes throughout the Lowcountry. Current listings for Luxury Simplified Real Estate include a private 7-acre estate in the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek, a sportman’s retreat situated on 600-acres of Ducks Unlimited conservation land alongside a Wando River tributary, and an elegant lowcountry residence in Martin’s Point with spectacular water views of the Wadmalaw Sound.
November saw the formation of the LS Real Estate Fund I, LLC. This “first of its kind ” fund is structured in such a way that investors who have a keen interest in investment in real estate throughout the city of Charleston can do so in a way that improves some of Charleston’s more neglected neighborhoods. We’re excited to be a part of the positive change that is taking place in Charleston.
In December we lined up our collection of vintage automobiles and headed to King Street to participate in the 2015 Charleston Holiday Parade. This is an annual favorite event for our team and we enjoy seeing all of the residents and visitors in Charleston line the downtown streets and be a part of this fun-filled day. Charleston is simply magical at Christmas time.
It’s been a wonderful year at Luxury Simplified with so much to be grateful for. We’ve got a couple of things up our sleeve for 2016 and look forward to all that the New Year will bring.
