Beers and Beards

The 9th Annual Beard & Mustache Championships will be taking place at the Music Farm on May 26th, but there’s also a welcome party on Friday night, lunch at Home Team BBQ on Saturday, and a farewell brunch Sunday morning. A percentage of ticket sales goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters. It’s guaranteed to be a fun, facial hair filled weekend for all.

If you’re spending the day downtown you might want to stroll on over to Marion Square, the city’s central park, for Piccolo Spoleto Festival’s annual Family Day. In addition to the Charleston Farmers Market, Marion Square will host activities for children of all ages, including arts & crafts, dancing, and a performance by Atlanta’s “Wildest Community Band “, the Seed & Feed Marching Abominable. The day culminates in a concert event, beginning at 3 PM, which will include show tunes and Broadway favorites along with some free patriotic music to honor our veterans and those currently serving in the military. Activities kick off at 10 AM.

Set Sail For Victory 

Each year, crewed by some capable captains and their trusted teams, ships set sail from Charleston to make the 1,000 mile trip up the Atlantic to Portland, Maine. Attend the festivities, check out the fleet, greet the crews, and watch as the ships set sail from Charleston Maritime Center, Saturday, May 26, 2018.
