Ravenel Bridge in Charleston SC during the Cooper River Bridge RunBy Patty Scott, Realtor, Luxury Simplified Real Estate

As a Realtor who handled many of the first units sold when the Tides luxury condominiums first launched in 2004, I am asked all the time, “What makes living in the Tides so desirable?” In the case of the Tides it actually does start with the age old reason that makes any piece of real estate incredibly desirable – location, location, location!

Mount Pleasant SC, separated from the downtown Charleston peninsula merely by the width of the Cooper River,  has become one of the fastest growing cities in South Carolina, and is home to one of Charleston’s hottest, most competitive real estate markets. And the uniquely desirable setting of the Tides, at that place where the Wando River and the Cooper River both meet and flow into the Charleston Harbor, means that this is waterfront living at it’s highest level … no pun intended!  The Tides condominiums are strategically positioned so that all residents, regardless of location, will enjoy views of the water. The entire Tides site is elevated 12 feet above grade providing dramatic views from these grand condominium buildings, and is ideally situated at the base of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge (formerly known as the Cooper River Bridge).

This area of Mount Pleasant truly does offer upscale living and a walk or bike everywhere lifestyle.  From the Tides you are just minutes away from the heart of historic downtown Charleston, the beaches of Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island,  Shem Creek, Patriot’s Point, Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Harris Teeter and a variety of shopping and dining options.  One of the most popular fitness attractions in Charleston is the walking/biking pedestrian path on the Ravenel Bridge. The Tides has the coveted distinction of being one of the few places on the Mt. Pleasant side of the bridge where you can lace up your shoes and walk from your home to the entrance of the bridge.  It really is just as easy as that!

Buildings I, II & III are on nestled on an 80-acre site adjacent to breathtaking lowcountry marsh.  Each building consists of 6 stories above secured parking.  The homes can range from $500’s to over $2M and in size from 1240-4500 square feet with options ranging from 1-5 bedrooms.  Where else in Charleston can you live in a 6th floor Penthouse with a private rooftop terrace and phenomenal views of the Harbor?

In addition to its ideal location and waterfront setting with bridge views, Tides is distinguished by it’s architectural styles, quality of finishes and especially the on-site amenities. Tide’s architecture integrates the best of Charleston’s modern and traditional forms.  Contemporary lines are inspired by the cutting-edge design of the Ravenel Bridge and incorporates extensive glass to maximize views. Broad terraces, cast architectural exterior stone, Lowcountry hues and interior details are influenced by time-honored Charleston standards.

This is a “come home to everything” way of life that offers a resort lifestyle feel.  The amenities at Tides includes The “Harbour House” on the first floor which has a  state-of-the-art fitness center with motivational views of the Harbor, private sauna and steamroom as well as ladies & men’s dressing rooms.  The Club Level of the Harbor House can be utilized by the resident’s of Tides for additional entertaining space including a Rooftop Terrace.  It features a media room with internet access and is encircled by porches. There is a slope-entry, Caribbean style pool, hot tub, Summer Kitchen, and gas grills.  Walking trails go around the perimeter of the property connecting with the Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park, Ravenel Bridge and Patriot’s Point.
