Linger at a cafe in Paris on the Champs-Élysées and it is said that, “Eventually, all the world will walk by.”  Well, with all of the dining options that exist on Daniel Island SC you might discover that the exact same thing applies. After all, linger at any one of these favorite local places and eventually, all of Daniel Island will walk by. That’s because this charming community is a walk & bike everywhere slice of Charleston coastal heaven, that feels at times like it was crafted straight from the brush tips of a Norman Rockwell  “Americana ” painting. And, when you’re hungry, you’ll find everything from a delightful coffee shop bathed in early morning light to a family-friendly eatery that offers pub trivia nights, or a favorite pizza joint.

Aside from all of the wonderful things that come with living on Daniel Island, this island town – surrounded by the Wando and Cooper rivers, tidal creeks, lush marsh landscape, miles and miles of walking trails, and manicured family-centric parks tucked among iconic lowcountry homes – offers up some great places to dine. Whether you are planning a romantic dinner for two, packing a picnic lunch, or just looking to grab some takeout … we’ve picked some of our Daniel Island favorites!

Breakfast

If you want to see the morning birds swoop past, one place comes to mind –  Blondies for breakfast.  Both get an early start to the day.  Blondies is known for its array of coffee drinks, bagels, and sandwiches–New York bagel lover’s approved!

Lunch

Laura Alberts serves the leisurely sit down lunch or dinner M-F and offers “Dinner to Go” from 3-6pm, which is a crowd pleaser for busy professionals who want to enjoy eating at home but don’t have time to cook.  Peruse the shop and grab some gourmet to go.  They’ve been around since 2002!

Dinner

Sermets offers Mediterranean dining al fresco.  Just a stone’s throw from the Wando River, this cozy upscale restaurant has a courtyard patio and often features live music playing softly in the background.

On any given day, you can get takeout from any of a number of Daniel Island restaurants, each of which is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Daniel Island. So, you can order ahead and then pick up as you return to the island from work, errands – or a day at the beach.  Try Vespa Pizzeria, Ali Baba Deli & Catering, Ristorante Lidi or Orlando’s Brick Oven Pizza.

Entertaining at Home

Sauer Grapes is the place to pick up your wine and a casserole to go for a quick dinner party that keeps entertaining easy breezy and fun.  Let Marie Sauer educate you and send you with the perfect porch potion for summer nights or fire pit favorites for chilly evenings.

Just opened winter 2017 on Fairchild Street are a 2590 sq ft Starbucks and 7,500 sq ft of wine.  Bin 526, a wine bar and wine and liquor shop next door to Starbucks, invites customers to have a glass of wine or craft beer in a comfortable seating area and then browse the store to look for a special bottle from their vast collection of wines and craft beers.
